Look like landscape morels (Morchella importuna), which usually grow a week or two before our naturals, in this area. Ishwish Posted May 4, 2017 Author Report Share Posted May 4, 2017 The morels are Morchella importuna, I've been back to the park a few times watching the growth of a few smaller ones I left and some new one popping up. It was quite funny, I was walking with my friends to the park and I just start running towards the beauty bark saying "Morels! Morels! Morels!".... all my friends thought I was running toward the trees just past the beauty bark yelling "Squirrels! Squirrels!" Only once I pulled out my pocket knife and bent down to get the mushrooms did they understand and came over to join me.
