Reishi mushrooms

I am (almost) 100% certain these are reishi mushrooms. Can somebody double check cause I'm new at mushroom hunting.

I should also state that they bruise red and the stem is REALLY tough.

Correct, Reishi should have a shiny/varnished cap surface, at least before the fruit body is well past prime. Also, the pores on most Ganoderma species --genus which houses all Reishi species-- are very small, usually requiring minor magnification to see.

I don't know Australian polypores, but I think I tracked down what you have here, William. A key is the red bruising that eventually turns black. Your mentioning the red bruising was key to the Amauroderma rude proposal.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amauroderma_rude
