Old Oak Posted November 26, 2016 Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 Found a huge lion's mane in a local park today. It was probably 20 ft up on the tree so I devised a new tool. I took a 10 oz lead bank sinker and a spool of 100 lb dacron braid. I threw the weight over the mushroom and the braided line pulled/cut the mushroom clean off the tree!! The mushroom weighed 18 lbs! I'll be keeping the line and weight in the car with me for the rest of the season just in case. The shoe in picture 2 is a 10.5 for perspective.
