Oregonrain
Hi, I came across a patch of mushrooms today. The pictures are below. My best guess is that it is the hedgehog mushroom, although I am concerned that I am not really seeing teeth. The underside has a firm spongy look, but if you look closely, there are a couple of areas where the sponge is starting to look a bit spike like the "teeth"--one of the pics below (8846) is kind of showing this. Any ideas on what it could be are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
vitog
This is definitely not a Hedgehog Mushroom. It is most likely Albatrellus ovinus or A confluens; check mushroomexpert.com for more info. However, it would be nice to see where the stem attaches to the cap and to know if it was growing on the ground or on wood. The size of the cap and the color of a sporeprint would also be useful.
