Chefbrad
Found these on my way home from work, they smell great mushroomy flavour, nice a firm but not sure what they are?
Dave W
Photos are blurry. Possibly Armillaria, but my confidence would be higher if I had a better view and a few other perspectives. Confidence on ID for 2nd photo is lowest.
Chefbrad
I shall take some more photos tomorrow, what should I be looking for
Dave W
Clearer view of cap surfaces, view of cap undersides (gills), view of stalks. Do these have rings on the stalks? Are they growing from wood, on the ground, and if on the ground are there live/dead trees/stumps nearby?
vitog
All of the photos show rings or hints of rings on the stalks; so they all look like Honey Mushrooms, except for the lack of the tiny scales that I usually associate with them. However, they don't always have scales, and British Armillarias are likely to look different from west coast North American ones anyway. I assume that these are located in England. GCn15
Definitely honey mushrooms that are a bit past their prime. Up in Northern Canada it is quite common for honeys to be without the scales. Some do and some don't.
Dave W
The one seen in the last few photos is from an Armillaria species (Honey Mushroom).
