mushroomaniac
Hi folks! Although we haven't had much rain here in İstanbul recently, we (me and my pseudomycolog fellows )found a great number of different mushrooms in Belgrade Forest. In the last three weeks, we have found tons of Fistulina hepatica, considerable amount of Laetiporus sulphureus a few Amanita caesars and some others. I ate some Suillus scabrum but later I got terrified to read the reports about it. Should I avoid eating it? Here I've got two kinds of mushrooms to be identified. I found them about a fortnight ago. I guess they are boletes. What do you think?
Dave W
Second pic (two caps) looks like Boletus illudens.
mushroomaniac
Thanks Dave. I'm no good at identifying boletes except for some common ones. What about the other one? The cap looks like velvet. The pores have the same colour as the cap (orange). The upper half of the stem is yellowish whereas the bottom half of it is reddish. Dave W
In North America, one guess for the red-pored one would be Boletus subvelutipes, But there are other possibilities. The red-pored boletes are often difficult to get to species.
