timeoutdoors Posted August 19, 2016 Report Share Posted August 19, 2016 This Mushroom is growing in a lawn where a large oak tree was cut after being struck by lightening. I believe it was a willow oak. This area is in Northeast Mississippi. It is a grass area with mixed hardwoods/pine nearby. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vitog Posted August 20, 2016 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 I can't tell how large these mushrooms are, but they look a little too small to be Parasols or Shaggy Parasols, or even the poisonous green-spored parasols. Possibly a species of Lepiota, or maybe --if large/robust-- Leucoagaricus americanus. Also, it would be good to know if there is any color change (staining) when the mushroom is sliced.
