The caps seem too smooth for Armillaria. What's interesting is that there were normal looking A. mellea coming up on the tree directly behind the fallen log these were fruiting off of. It was too dark to get in situ photos when I was collecting, but it's not far from me so I'll go back next week when I get back from my foraging vacation.
