Evan
We found a small young hen the other day and left it to grow. Went back today to get it. Picked it, picked my daughter up from school, stopped to visit a friend and his one year old son, then came home. Once home, I found a tiny surprise inside. Tasso
Evan, I got quite a surprise myself when this fellow crawled out of a hen I was cleaning. I assume he was looking for slugs. Blue-spotted Salamander (Ambystoma laterale).
DufferinShroomer
Evan is that black widow?
Tic
Sure looks like it! That would send my wife through the roof (or more likely bolting out the door!) lol
Evan
Yes. It's a black widow. After researching I figured out that it is a male,so it's not dangerous. Still makes me think about what else could be lurking in my mushrooms.
Dave W
Where there's males, there's females. Scary. This is a good warning to check what may be lurking among all those passageways through a Hen.
The Vault Dweller
Lucky for you it was male. I'm glad too.
