eat-bolete Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I got a bunch of C. minor and/or C. ignicolor. Most ard tiny. Are these worth eating? are any types of chantserelle looking mushrooms with pseudogills not good?
Dave W Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 I think a substantial haul of these small chants is worth experimenting with. Audubon says there is no evidence to support the claim that ignicolor is edible. In the past I have eaten small amounts without any problem. Proceed with caution.
eat-bolete Posted July 18, 2015 Author Report Posted July 18, 2015 Thanks Dave. I just see other people on this forum collecting them too so I feel a little more confortable trying them, small amount of course.
brianf Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 I've eaten igncolor in the past. To be honest the flavor isn't very strong and they tend to get lost in the dish. I haven't found a worthy quantity in years.
