The response above and similar silly responses to several other topics in "Identifying Mushrooms" seem to all be AI responses under different names from Finland.  There have been al lot of these lately, but I can't imagine why someone is doing this.

A serious response: these mushrooms look like some kind of scaberstalk bolete, possibly genus Leccinum; but I'm not familiar with eastern North American mushrooms.

I'm a junior member and my guess is Sutorius eximius which is a thick bolete but toxic. It has been listed under Leccinum and also Tylopilus in the past.
