Dave W Posted July 16, 2015 Report Share Posted July 16, 2015 Not in the rubescens group. The basal structure is wrong. Note the membraneous saccate volva. Is the sack/cup considerably longer than what is seen in the photo (buried)? I think this is a species from Amanita section Amidella. These types have saccate volva, (almost always) no ring on the stalk, and some stain brown or reddish brown. These are difficult to ID to species. Seeing the entire basal structure would be helpful.
