ChefsWild
Color is an unremarkable tan throughout. The milk slowly stains reddish brown. The stem is fairly hollow. Ignore the bluish patch on the cap, it was in a bag with Lactarius indigo.
eat-bolete
I'll throw in a L. lignyotus proposal.
Dave W
Not L. lignyotus, which has a dark velvety caps surface, and usually a dark flush on the stalk. I think this may be L. subplinthogalus. Looks like an older specimen. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/lactarius_subplinthogalus.html
