ChefsWild Posted July 10, 2015 Report Share Posted July 10, 2015 The older specimens top left had larger pores and were slowly blue staining on being bruised. The two button sized ones had tight pores and were very slowly and faintly black staining with a hint of blue. The one in the closeup (with the two small ones) did not stain at all, at least not for the 20 minutes I waited to check it before deciding it wasn't going to. Dave W Posted July 11, 2015 Report Share Posted July 11, 2015 I think the smaller ones and the one with dark green pores that look to be stained are probably one of Boletus rubellus, B. fraternus, B. campestris. These three species are easily confused. The large one with the lemon-yellow-pores looks like Boletus subglabripes. If found when young and firm subglabripes is a decent edible.
