pumplinpen Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 The first one I think is L. volemus; lots of white latex, found in deciduous woods. The white on the bottom of the stem I think is a hypomyces, not the muhroom coloring. The second I think is Tylopilus alboater. It is not bitter, no apparent taste, bruises brown.
Dave W Posted July 4, 2015 Report Posted July 4, 2015 I agree the brown mushroom with gills is Lactarius volemus, a popular edible. Tylopilus alboater usually has a very dark cap and stalk. The last photo looks like alboater. Although one or two of the others are not as dark as I expect with alboater, they may also be examples of this species. Mild taste? T. alboater has dense flesh.
