westernwoolf Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 Hello, I'm having trouble identifying this. It was in North Florida in June. On dead wood. The spore print is white.
Dave W Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 I don't recognize this type mushroom. Maybe a species of Gymnopus...? Gills appear to taper dramatically several millimeters from the stalk and connect to the stalk via a threadlike arc.
Dave W Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 Maybe something close to this... http://mushroomobserver.org/206879?q=2aYHr
twankburger Posted June 19, 2015 Report Posted June 19, 2015 Can you get any better images of the entire stalk and perhaps a sliced down the middle image. If it is a Gymnopus, could be recreationally edible or deadly. better be sure on this one. http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/gallery/DisplayBlock~bid~5978~gid~~source~gallerydefault.asp Also resembles these galarina autumnails = Deadly https://www.erowid.org/plants/show_image.php?i=mushrooms/safe-pik_galerina_autumnalis1_lg.jpg
Dave W Posted June 20, 2015 Report Posted June 20, 2015 Definitley not Galerina autumnalis = G. marginata. Is there a deadly Gymnopus? What species are troublesome?
