First fungi in Fairfield County, CT

Recommended Posts

I finally found something this weekend. After 3 weeks of coming up empty (except for a couple of dried out mica caps) I finally found some signs of life out there. I found some brown jelly fungi growing on sticks, possibly small tree ears, a few pale, thick, fleshy cup fungi (haven't tried to ID) and some oyster mushrooms. Unfortunately the oysters were pretty wormed out and very little was edible but I still salvaged what little I could. I also explored a large area full of very mature tulip trees that I plan on spending some serious time investigating next weekend. Pics of the oysters to follow.
