Floranongrata Posted October 31, 2024 Report Posted October 31, 2024 Anyone know anything about these mushrooms? We’ve not seen them before on our property in western Washington in the San Juan Islands. They are surrounded by mainly Douglas Fir but are on a patch of fill dirt that came in from another site 18 months ago. The sheer size of this group is impressive. They are extremely dense and not much odor. The photo of the gills was the best I could get without disturbing them. Any ideas are appreciated.
Dave W Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 I'm not sure about the status of G. spectabilis being a western NA species. But, the mushrooms seen here look like this European species.
