JMarps Posted October 28, 2024 Report Posted October 28, 2024 Is this a white dome cap? Found on its own in woodland, UK Midlands, next to fallen tree. Chalky cap which was more a beige with pinky hue. All opinions welcome! Quote
Dave W Posted November 15, 2024 Report Posted November 15, 2024 By "white dome-cap" I think you mean species of Clitocybe. Maybe... If the gills are purplish then also consider genus Laccaria. Quote

JMarps Posted November 18, 2024 Author Report Posted November 18, 2024 Cheers big Dave. Def not purplish, much more pink to orange gills. Clitocybe, which is another new term for a newbie like me who is getting to know the ropes, is certainly a species which looks about right. Clearly you are a mushroom marksman with an exemplary hit rate. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. Quote
Dave W Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 Okay, probably genus Clitocybe. Plenty of possibilities for the species. Quote
