Jeremy G Posted October 15, 2024 Report Posted October 15, 2024 3800' Oregon Cascades. Mix of Alder and Doug Fir. First guess was maybe Queen Bolete because of the dark brown. But the darker stem is throwing me for a loop - so maybe King Bolete? Taste is pretty mild flavor. Its a little wormy...which is a bummer... Thanks.

vitog Posted October 17, 2024 Report Posted October 17, 2024 Cap color of mushrooms is often variable. Take a look at Google images for Boletus edulis; the colors are extremely variable.
