flipjargendy Posted September 19, 2024 Report Posted September 19, 2024 This mushroom is in Montana, near a pond, in grass. It is very firm, like a Bolete. There were no gills, it felt like pours. The underside of the cap was concave, not flat. I've done some looking and am just not finding an ID. If you can point me in the right direction, that would be great. Quote
JOHNY Posted September 19, 2024 Report Posted September 19, 2024 Did you pick it and look at the underside? It sounds like you just felt it. It is easy to think there are no gills just by feel alone, if they are still covered by a veil. Also if they are extremely crowded together Quote
flipjargendy Posted September 19, 2024 Author Report Posted September 19, 2024 That is a good pont about just feeling. Did not pick it up. I tried to get the camera under it but it was a worthless effort. Maybe I'll just pick it if I get over there again. Quote
CajunShroomer3578 Posted September 20, 2024 Report Posted September 20, 2024 I’ve seen caps that look similar with multiple slugs chomping at their bits Quote
vitog Posted September 20, 2024 Report Posted September 20, 2024 To me it looks like a mushroom infected with a white mold. Quote
