AGL Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 Hello forum! Just ran into these while on the trail, i was thinking the small ones could be Bay Boletes, but not 100% sure. For a second i thought admirable bolete, but i think the stem should be more violet. The large one could be the same species just more mature, again, not sure. Any help is highly appreciated. Found under conifer trees, northern GA. Quote
AGL Posted July 30, 2024 Author Report Posted July 30, 2024 Actually now that the large one is dry, it’s looking more like a king? Quote
CajunShroomer3578 Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Looks like Tylopilus I find here in south Louisiana. Did you nibble a small piece to check for bitterness? I am very confident in saying these are NOT kings https://www.mushroomexpert.com/tylopilus_badiceps.html https://www.mushroomexpert.com/tylopilus_rubrobrunneus.html Quote
