These just sprung up at my work in Houston on a dead oak tree. Could these be Hen of the Woods? Haven't dug through all my books yet and am currently doing a spore print but figured I'd ask the forum. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Almost certainly some kind of Oyster; definitely not Hens.

Looks like some real nice Oysters to me. Definitely not Hen of the Woods. Hens grow like little bushes composed of fronds. The undersides of the fronds (fertile surface) are composed of pores. The ones seen here have gills.

Yup, looks like Pleurotus Ostratus to me... if confirmed, this is a very nice find... they will come out every year when conditions are right
