CajunShroomer3578 Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Not sure what kind of tree these were growing on, first 3 pictures were taken on a Sunday morning and the 4th picture, 3 days later. Hadn't harvested any so no spore print. Oysters ?
Dave W Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I think these are Oysters. But another possibility is Angel Wings (pleurocybella porrigens). These pure-white Oyster look-alikes grow on wood of coniferous trees. Spore print in pure white. Although long considered a good edible, Angel Wings are now considered questionable as edibles. An incident in Japan involved several people who became seriously ill after consuming Angel Wings. They are usually not as fleshy as true Oyster Mushrooms. Pleurocybella porigens, Angel Wings.
