Duggstar Posted November 10, 2014 Author Report Posted November 10, 2014 I find the smell difficult to describe, kind of earthy I suppose, it didn't smell of almonds or aniseed or anything like that to me.
Dave W Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 This may be a European species with which I am unfamiliar. So I'm not too confident about recommending an ID. Here in North America, one way to tell most of the toxic Agaricus species is by the chemical/phenol/medicinal odor of the toxic ones. Sometimes this odor is faint.
Duggstar Posted November 10, 2014 Author Report Posted November 10, 2014 I've often heard that all the toxic ones stain yellow at the base. Is this always the case?
