thelawsofexploration Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Pretty sure of this one found Thursday. Think it's a Chlorophyllum molybdites or false parasol. Anyone agree?
Dave W Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Photos are blurred. C. molybdites has a green spore print.
thelawsofexploration Posted October 26, 2014 Author Report Posted October 26, 2014 Thanks, Dave. Again, if you can zoom in I believe you will find very specific focal points as these were taken with a macro lens. Next time I'll take a spore print for sure!
Dave W Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Not nearly enough info available to suggest an ID. Photos appear to be taken indoors. Learning to use the ambient light available in an outdoor setting takes time, but better photos are the likely result. Photos taken in macro setting may result in one small focal point being true to form. But, IDing mushrooms from photos requires that one see these traits in the context of the whole mushroom... from the given perspective. Gestalt is important. IMO, macro is the best way to get good point-and-shoot photos. I use it almost exclusively for mushroom photos. It's a good idea to experiment with different perspectives, distances from subject, and lighting. I generally take lots of photos of any given subject, and then try to choose a few good ones after I load them onto my computer.
