Dave W Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 There are a variety of yellow/orange Hygrocybe species, and this is probably one. H. flavescens is a possibility here. To my knowledge, the only poisonous Waxy Cap mushrooms are the black-staining types which often have conical caps. But many species of Hygrophorus/Hygrocybe are not well-tested for edibility. The flesh on these types is generally insubstantial.
