Kamenko
I found these growing in the sandy part of my backyard. They have a mild taste and pleasant smell, but it's hard to define or compare to something else. I'm still taking a spore print, but I think it will be light/white. UPDATE: It is white Edited September 16 by Kamenko Spore print completed
Calvert
That does seem like a good ID. The roughly textured cap without striations, broad thick deep purple gills, and growth in sand match the species description. It should have purple coloured mycelium at the base.
