KentStuff Posted September 13 Report Share Posted September 13 Trying to identify these mushrooms. Thinking they may be meadow mushrooms or similar. Pink gills have slowly turned brown after picked. Dave W Posted September 13 Report Share Posted September 13 The pink-to-brown gills that do not attach to the stalks (ie. "free gills") point toward genus Agaricus. But, I don't think these are the type called "Meadow Mushrooms", which are species in the Agaricus campestris group. Agaricus is a very large genus (lots of species), and some types will cause illness if consumed. Agaricus species tend to be distributed regionally, and I don't know much about the mushrooms of FL.
