Rooting Shank? Hymenopillus radicata

Found this one the other day. I think I think I figured it out but decided to share anyways. I kinda like how it looks. Apparently has a root more like a plant that goes as deep under ground as the stem is above ground.

Yes. Over the years this type mushroom has gone by many different names. The genus has changed from.... Collybia to Oudemansiella to Xeruls to Hymenopellis, and most recently back to Oudemansiella as b=per a genetics-based study. There are several different possibilities for the species. In PA the most common species of "rooter" is Oudemansiella furfuracea. Some field guides still list this under the genus Hymenopellis.
