ChefsWild Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Lots of things on a stump! Maybe blewits? This one had a velvety cap and purplish gills. Milky mushroom. Orange blushing to blue-green on top. Top and bottom views.
Dave W Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 White ones on a stump...? Need to see more detail. Mycena? Clitocybula? Next 4 pics show Cortinarius. Possibly more than one species. One with the green stain looks like Lactarius clelidonium. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/lactarius_chelidonium_chelidonioides.html
ChefsWild Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 Thanks! I left the white ones on the stump alone after taking a quick picturesque snap, as that particular shot was taken in a park where you aren't s'posed to bother the flora and fauna. The rest are from game lands, so I fiddled with them.
Dave W Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Those white mushrooms likely offer no culinary potential... even for someone with an imagination as active as ChefsWild :-) So I guess we'll havta settle for thinking of them as a "pretty picture of white mushrooms."
