bobby b
Two M. angusticeps & one diminutiva under a group of mostly live elms, these two species don't seem dependent on dead elm production. We need a good rain, it's warm and dry.
bobby b
One nice one & 2 shriveled up under very dry condition, no rain for 10 days or so & hot , these under a large poplar. It's been 4 years since I've seen them at this tree.
bobby b
Four black morel were at the base of a large white oak. The common associates, apple, elm, poplar, hickory & ash trees were absent from the area. A large black cherry was about 20 yards away, it had 2 M. diminutiva close to it. bobby b
These long caps with long verticle lines, kinda like a diminutiva but much like M. americana. 19 under a pin oak which produced last year, 10 to 12 yards away an apple tree with 4 americana which were similar. 8 diminutiva under apple/black cherry & 8 half frees under a pin oak with black cherry close by. Staveshaver
Those are some nice ones. I'm just north of you in Butler county and found these this morning under very old apple trees. Found many ramps on south facing hillsides.
