Nutball Posted December 8, 2022 Report Share Posted December 8, 2022 I found this growing very close to the yellow gilled mushrooms under white pines where firewood had been processed a few years ago. Dave W Posted December 9, 2022 Report Share Posted December 9, 2022 Species of Tricholoma, possibly T. terreum which is said to sometimes have a distinctly scaly cap surface. Another name to check for comparison, T. myocymes. But, T. squarrulosum looks like maybe the best possibility https://www.mushroomexpert.com/tricholoma_squarrulosum.html .
