The mushroom app suggests they are lurid boletus but could be confused with poisonous satanic boletus. Could someone please help to identify? Many thanks in advance! Dave W Posted September 19, 2022 Report Share Posted September 19, 2022 Neither Suillellus luridus nor Boletus satanas is a species I have found here in Pennsylvania, USA. These photos do not look like B. satanas. They do look like photos of S. luridus I see online. One feature that Wikipedia suggests checking is the presence of a maroon strip of flesh just below where the tubes attach to the rest of the cap. To check this, vertically section a fruit body.
