Possible Oyster

Recommended Posts

So I stumbled upon this little patch unexpectedly while doing my end of the season walk for raspberries. Growing on an old dead still standing tree, and oddly unclumped compared to how it seems oysters usually grow.

The flesh is fairly solid, bruises a pale cream barely darker than its usual color, what's throwing me is I can't see any gills or pores on the underside. It smells like a standard button mushroom, but I don't even know if I can get a spore print off this guy? Location is Kingston, Ontario.

Please let me know if you've seen anything similar!

Cheers,
