Creech
These were growing in central Ky in wood chips that I had used for mulch. I want to make a stir fry. Should I let my guests eat some first to see what happens before I do or can someone tell me if they’re safe to eat? Thanks.
Calvert
Looks like some type of Agrocybe. I'm not sure which exact species. There are a few Agrocybe that are edible, but they're supposedly not very tasty. You should never eat a wild mushroom unless you're 100% sure of your ID. Dave W
Possibly Agrocybe sororia. I agree with Calvert, not a good idea to experiment with eating mushrooms that represent a species for which edibility is not well understood... let alone feeding them to other people!
