robinh2011
 Hi, I'm new to mushroom hunting and have looked through the new books I have. I'm in southern Oregon, and was out hunting Turkey tail mushrooms and found these, They were growing on a dead Madrone branch on the ground, I also saw some growing that had some green allege on them. I'm abou t %90 sure they are Hairy Bracket Fungus, but wanted to confirm as I can't find it in my books, just online. Thanks.
Dave W
I think you're correct robinh. The densely hairy nearly shaggy cap surface and brown margin support an ID proposal of T. hirsuta. If you have access to a microscope with a reticle in it, then T. hirsuta has larger spores than T. versicolor.
