I’m very new to mushroom identification- saw these (attached below) and thought for a moment they might be turkey tail, but they don’t have the right underside pores. Dave W Posted December 24, 2021 Report Share Posted December 24, 2021 The tooth-like projections/teeth are probably polypore tube walls that became elongated and lacerated in age. This commonly happens with species of Trichaptum, although one cluster of the mushrooms seen here were apparently growing in a spiraling rosette. This would be unusual for a species of Trichaptum. And mushrooms representing Trichaptum species usually show some purple tones... or at least darker than the ones seen in this discussion. I think these are an example of Trametes villosa with unusually dentoid undersides http://www.mushroomexpert.com/trametes_villosa.html . Unusual!
