Arbu
My neighbor’s yard had an old root system that is growing mushrooms that look like red reishi. The temperature is 70–80, the gills are white and they look like red reishi. Thanks in advance. Here are some pictures:
Dave W
Looks like a species of varnished Ganoderma. These types have been lumped together under the heading "Reishi", but I'm not sure about how many have been used to prepare a tincture or tea. Do you know the type of tree roots? Arbu
No, I don’t. I’m going to throw out the ones I picked. Should I ask my neighbor about the type of tree?
Dave W
Knowing the type of tree may be helpful. Here in Pennsylvania something that looks like this would likely be either Ganoderma sessile or G. curtisii. Not sure if there are other species found in Texas. Something to check... If you want to use these to prepare tea/tincture then heck to make sure your neighbor does not treat the lawn with herbicide/pesticide.
