Bmind
Hi I live near near Ottawa, Ontario and found these mushrooms in my property. They are white and have white gilles. Can you please let me know what they are and if they are edible. I am new to mushrooms.
Dave W
I think these smaller ones may be Leucoagaricus leucothites. But, confusing this species with a dangerously poisonous Amanita is possible. Extreme caution is advised. I think the large one with the cap upturned to show the gills may be a different species. The gills appear to be attached to the stalk. L. leucothites has "free gills". Maybe this larger mushroom represents a species of Hygrophorus?
