euvol Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Found them today, very nice looking, in south-eastern BC,Canada. Bay boletus ?
euvol Posted September 7, 2014 Author Report Posted September 7, 2014 it's a Boletus mirabilis (Murrill) Murrill or admirable bolete. Edibility - choice , delicious, some have a distinct lemony flavor, avoid specimens attacked by Hypomyces. - by E-Flora BC Atlas.
Dave W Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Similar in appearance to the B. badius (Bay Bolete) I find here in eastern NA. To my knowledge, we don't get mirabilus here. Beautiful mushrooms, nice photos!
ladyflyfsh Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Boletus mirabilis. I love these...they have a slightly lemony flavor and when nice and fresh are a good edible. The Admirable bolete
