Everydaywalk
I'm leaning very heavily towards the chicken fat mushroom. It was found on my lawn. There is a pine about 50 feet away. Brown spore print. Pictures with blue background was when it was freshly picked a couple days ago Thanks for the help!
clamp connection
I don't remember chicken fats having such enlarged tubes...I guess I'll walk out in the yard and check because I tend to ignore them.
JOHNY
They look a bit old. There is small spotty red marks on the caps when younger. Also, it must be white pine. They only grow in association with white pine. I've never eaten them. The large pores and thin caps just don't appeal to me
Jeff Falcone
Everything except the photos with blue background and very white looking mushroom looks good for Suillus americanus (chicken fat). What's up with those photos with blue background? Is that the same mushroom just with weird lighting?
Everydaywalk
The pictures with the blue background were when freshly picked. The other pics are from a 2 day old specimen. It's in fact the same mushroom.
Dave W
If you can find a young one with evidence of a partial veil --ie. deposot on the upper part of the stalk-- then I agree, S. americanus. Otherwise, some other similar species of Suillus.

Sorry, that was a pretty long walk. 🤪 Yah, the S. americanus in my yard do have large pores, at least in old age.
