DeesFarm
Found several of these in the grass/leaf litter of a trail. Hardwood forest. Most were old and rotten, but they all had these skinny tall stalks. The thin fibrous stalk made me r/o bicolor bolete. It did not bruise on picking. But as you can see it began to bruise greenish brown once it got older at home and after I began cutting it up. But the reaction was very delayed. Tops and stalk in person looked more red than the pictures indicate.

rbenn
The cap looks closer to Aureoboletus betula.
DeesFarm
Looking at the photos of aureoboletus betula I'm thinking that is correct. Esp since the cap was viscid. I'm going to go back out to see if there are more. Thanks for the advice. I checked the bolete filter site but somehow missed the betula images. A quick web search shows mushrooms looking very similar to what I have.
