Teresarae1
Reishi and chicken of the woods? Both grow in my yard. The one I believe that is Reishi grows in abundance around two dead tree stumps and the other just randomly in my yard. Am I right on these identifications? The chicken of the woods looks like a lot of other types in my identification book.
Jeff Falcone
For identification purposes, you will need to provide more pictures. At a minimum you must show the top and bottom of the mushroom and the stem if it has one. The top picture does not look like a Laetiporus species to me, but the bottom picture does look like it could be a Ganoderma species (reishi). To identify the Ganoderma, we'll need to know what kind of tree it was growing on.
