Timmy
I found an old one and some new ones around an oak tree in central Illinois. I believe they are bolete and edible but would like confirmation. Also, if anyone has tried them and how they are? Thanks!
Jeff Falcone
Were there other tree species close by? The id proposals I'm coming up with all associate with pine
Timmy
No pines in the area. Under a large old oak
bobby b
The first mushroom looks like Boletus separans.
Dave W
I agree that the ones with the reticulate stalks and wrinkled caps are Boletus separans. Not sure about the identity of the other brown ones. Looks like the mature pores lack a greenish tint and instead are a bit more pinkish shade of brown, which would point toward genus Tylopilus.
