Could someone help me identify this mushroom? Sorry if I have failed to comply with the format of this site. My first post here. Thanks. Dave W Posted May 28, 2021 Report Share Posted May 28, 2021 The very dark gills suggest the spore print will be dark, possibly even black. If the print is pure black and there is animal dung present where it grows, then maybe a species of Panaeolus. There are a few species of Panaeolus with white cap and white stalk. Panaeolus antillarum is one such species. Please note that I have very low confidence in this ID proposal. There are other types of mushrooms that look like this one. For example, Stropharia semiglobata, Leratiomyces percevalii, Agrocybe dura are other types found here in North America that resemble this one.
