Kevin Hoover Posted May 10, 2021 Report Share Posted May 10, 2021 Pale whiteish yellow cap, remnants of a veil, gills light brown attached to cap, gills extending down the stem until the veil. Stem is hollow, about same color as cap, darkening and swelling towards base. Found it in yard, growing against a pressure treated landscape timber. Dave W Posted May 11, 2021 Report Share Posted May 11, 2021 Agrocybe/Cyclocybe aergerita reportedly grows directly on wood (true poplar). There are a few observations of C. aergerita here on WMH; clusters growing on wood in Louisiana. I think Kevin's mushroom represents some species from the A. praecox group.
