Corvus
I found these pretty close to the ink caps I posted earlier. Could this be a coprinopsis atramentaria based on the little orange flecks on the cap? These are much fresher than the other shrooms I posted earlier so I didn't recognize them at first. The stem, cap, and color looked completely different to me.
Dave W
The mushrooms appear to be in the initial stage of deliquescing (dissolving into an inky liquid). Maybe Coprinopsis romagnesiana.
JOHNY
Hi Dave, What features lead you to say C. romagnesiana? The thick bell shaped grey cap reminds me of C atramentaria.
Corvus
Thank you, both.
Dave W
C. atramentaria has a cap with long radial striations, and the caps tend to be more egg-shaped (in my experience). I'd say the distinction between C. atramentaria and C. romagnesiana is tricky enough to suspect that either species name may apply here.
