Hi all. I've been lurking around the forum for a couple of years hoping to learn what some mushrooms are that grow in my yard around my maple trees every fall. I've finally remembered to take some pictures to post. I understand that mushrooms can't be precisely identified in this manner, but I'd be happy if some of you could give educated guesses. As I said, the mushrooms appear almost overnight in late summer or early fall. The quickly grow and then rot, becoming infested with maggots. They then turn into a black slimy goo. Does anyone have a suggestion?
