Summer solstice 2018 I had a huge reishi foresting year. The hemlocks around me flushed out an abundance. Normally I dry and powder what I harvest. That year I decided to make some into a tincture. Well, I did a really good job putting it in a dark place and forgetting about it. I don't know enough about the tincture process to know if it has gone bad. I know the normal process would have been me taking the fungi out after 6-8 months and and extracting a little more goodness out of them through distilled water / slow cooker. And adding that water to get the appropriate alcohol content so it would still be shelf stable. BUT since the vodka has been sitting with the reishi for going on 3 years, what has happened? Is it ok because this is such a woody mushroom? Knowledge appreciated! Thank you!

Hey forum! Just wanted to double check before I process this little fella. Thanks in advance. Thereโs a second one coming apparently.

My mom found these and brought them home, are these reishi? They are hard and shiny and not porous like beefstake

I found this on what I believe is an oak. It is still live? I cannot determine whether or not it is actually a reishi however I did find Reishis growing on a stump about 10 feet away..

Hey everyone. I believe this mushroom is the Artist's Conk but I would like to confirm. I found it on a fallen oak tree in central Florida. What do you think?

I found these on at the base of an old stump in West Virginia. They stain dark brown and the growth margin is bright yellow. White underneath. Shiny red in places on top. They kind of smell like wet dog. Thank you

I finally managed to go out in the rain yesterday and find some edibles. I got into a good bit of oysters and saw honey mushrooms, and then stumbled onto a huge patch of Ganoderma growing out of the ground. Not a bad day all in all. The pink one (Phlebia incarnata) I'd never seen before although I take it it's fairly common. I have not done much fall foraging in the east so this was the first time I'd seen this brilliant pink thing growing alongside Stereum and oyster mushrooms. A real beauty!
